Proudly known as the ‘Rose Capital of Australia,’ Adelaide certainly lives up to that name and in recent years the Rose Society has pursued its aim of “taking roses to the people.” This year, the Rose Society’s popular Spring Rose Show will be held at South Australia’s largest regional shopping mall – Barossa Central,1 Murray Street, Nuriootpa on Saturday 18th October (12 noon to 5pm) and Sunday 19th October (9am to 4pm).
The Barossa Central mall will be filled with Rose Show competition entries and creative floral arrangements. Visitors can also get advice from rose experts! This includes learning more about rose growing, having a rose identified, inspiration for home gardens or becoming a Rose Society member. It’s all here at our annual Spring Rose Show.
Home gardeners are encouraged to come along on Sunday 19th October between 10am – 12 noon with their own home-grown rose entries for the Community Class competition* (bring roses with stem and foliage in water.) We are hoping to see lots of entries and a kaleidoscope of colourful blooms on the bench and of course there are prizes for the winners.
The Rose Show is generously supported by the staff and management of Barossa Central with its relaxing cafés providing great food and beverages. Come and smell the roses and stay for morning tea, lunch or afternoon tea as a special treat.
