2024 Dean Stringer OAM Award

Life Members of The Rose Society of South Australia, Chris and Pam Kelly, have received the Dean Stringer OAM Award for Member of the Year. They were presented with the award—introduced in 2023 in honour of one of the Society’s most beloved members, a Life Member and a Past Present— by President Gavin Woods at the 2024 Christmas lunch at Auchendarroch House. In presenting the award, Gavin said: “Chris and Pam’s contribution, both individually and collectively, has been enormous; both serving as Councillors with Pam as Secretary for a period. Chris and Pam, for many years, have been the driving force behind our shows, receiving all the entries from exhibitors, entering them into a data base, producing the judging sheets, collating all the results and printing the prize cards on the day of the show. It was a massive effort which we began to best appreciate when Chris and Pam retired from this role prior to our recent Spring Show. Chris remains our web-site host and holds other important roles within the rose world.”
