Free Advice for Rose Lovers Rose Society of SA


The Rose Society of South Australia is offering free advice for rose lovers.

Commencing on a monthly basis on 10th July, and then 14th August, 12th September and 17th October and finally 13th November.

Free 45-minute sessions will be held at the Burnside Uniting Church, 384 Portrush Road, Tusmore, commencing at 6.30pm and finishing at 7.15pm.

The National Rose Society of Australia President, Gavin Woods, and World Federation of Rose Societies Immediate Past President, Kelvin Trimper, will run the sessions.

The first session, on Wednesday 10th July, will be a demonstration on ‘Pruning Roses’. However, all questions are welcome.

Topics for subsequent sessions will be:

August – Pest and Disease management and Fertilising;

September – the value of planning a rose garden, site selection and preparation for planting;

October – picking roses for inside arrangements and showing your roses on the Show bench;

November – Rose hybridising / breeding your own unique rose.

Visitors are welcome to stay for the Rose Society of SA monthly meetings which will be held on the same evenings from 7.30pm.
