Rose Pruning Demonstrations by SA Rose Society expert pruners

The Rose Society of South Australia will once again be conducting Rose Pruning
Demonstrations in 2022.

These demonstrations highlight the methods of pruning roses on
different types of rose plants.
Qualified rose pruners will be on hand to show pruning techniques as well as answering any questions, you may have.

Come along and bring your gloves and secateurs. Give it a go under the guidance of the demonstrators.

Pruning Dates 2022:

CARRICK HILL – 46 Carrick Hill Drive, Springfield
A rose pruning demonstration will be held at the historic Carrick Hill property, conducted by members of the Rose Society of SA on Sunday, 19 June from 12.30 to 3.30 pm. The Carrick Hill Café has great food, tea and coffee.  Have lunch or afternoon tea as a special treat. Rose pruning participants will receive a 10% discount on coffee, scones or lunch at the Café.

ADELAIDE – International Rose Garden, Adelaide Botanic Garden, Hackney Road, Adelaide on Sunday, 26 June from 12.30 to 3.30 pm. The rose pruning demonstration is centrally located and you are invited to bring your gloves and secateurs and train under instructions from expert tutors.

EVANSTON (Gawler) – Roses in the Heartland Branch will be holding a rose pruning demonstration onSunday, 10 July at 1pm at 3 Para Road, Evanston. The Roses in the Heartland Annual General Meeting will commence at the conclusion of the rose pruning demonstration. All welcome.

Need to know how to prune different roses? Instructions and free advice from Rose Society of SA experienced Rose Pruners on pruning roses and how to get the best flowering from them is available at the pruning demonstrations. You will be shown how to prune standards, bush, shrub and climbing roses. If you wish to practice under guidance, bring along your gloves and secateurs. Don’t be  fazed with pruning roses as they are very forgiving. It takes a lot to kill a rose by bad pruning!
